various instrumentations into it’s personalised amalgamation of catchy, experimental music. Each song is a timeless
composition of art that together makes for a modern opus. With his influences ranging from the Tame Impala, Fleet Foxes,
Flaming Lips and through to Mr Bungle, Lost Polaris manages to combine various elements of popular music and create a
new and totally refreshing sound unlike anything being played at the moment.
Hailing from Austin, Texas, Hunter Mischnick started his career as frontman and songwriter to band ‘Plebian’ where he
honed his craft. But following the band’s breakup Hunter headed North to find his own sound. His travels and time spent
soul -searching saw the writing and creation of “Passing of the Doldrums” which features on the EP.
After settling in Houston, Texas. Hunter Mischnick was able to start on the project of Lost Polaris and to create what was to
become a backlog of over 200 songs, covering a spectrum of styles and genres. But it’s been Hunter’s flair with the
experimental that has really shaped the direction of Selective Deafness. He reports “Cordyceps’ came about after collecting
various circuit bent keyboards and/or analog gadgets and toy instruments”
